The circus is coming to town (including a giveaway)

UPDATE: Using random.org I drew the two winners of the passes and comment #1 and comment #5 were drawn – congratulations Mel and Lilly and thanks to all who entered.

Note: Sponsored post, thanks to Silvers Circus for hosting my family at an upcoming show.

It’s an often remarked on joke around here that we don’t have to run away to join the circus because it’s circus enough here already.

We are a family who really values family outings and experiences together but until now have not yet taken the boys to the Circus and as it turns out the Circus is coming to town, Silver Circus in fact.

I have some very fond memories of visiting the circus as a child – the smell of popcorn (do they still do popcorn at the circus?), ooohing at the tight rope walkers and my brother guffawing at the clown’s hijinx. I’m sure I saw Silvers Circus as a kid growing up in a large regional centre.  It was a very rare treat and we enjoyed every minute.  There’s a certain romance and mystery behind the circus and there’s no doubt the circus has changed since I was a child.

And it looks like something my boys will LOVE….motor bikes doing daring tricks anyone?

globe of deathI have two sets of family tickets – 2 adults and 2 children to give away for the Adelaide show on Thursday 10th April at 8pm in Bonython Park.   To win, please leave a comment below letting me know what your favourite event to attend as a child was!  See below for the “fine print”. Great Blog! I’m just starting to get into it myself. 🙂
I have had an eventful few years and I would love to take my four children to the circus! I remember the privilege of going to the circus ONCE as a child. Back then, it really was once in a lifetime! I loved the animals of course, but my favourites were the acrobats. I was a gymnast back then… lol. But I always had to shut my eyes when the clowns were around. Coulrophobia. I wonder if I’ve overcome that fear? I guess theres only one way to find out!
(Of course if I was lucky enough to win a family pass, I understand I would be buying tickets for the other two children. 🙂 Thank you for the opportunity to enter the competition.

My late father took me to see the Moscow Circus as a 10 year old. I marvelled at the greatest clown ever, Oleg Popov (then 60 years old but still amazing). It is a memory I will treasure forever.

I don’t think I ever got to go to the circus? Wah! One of my favourite family outings was to St Kilda play ground, it had crazy, huge slides and a bit spinning metal cage called “The Washing Machine”. I haven’t been back as an adult yet, but one day I’ll return. I’d love to give my children the opportunity to see a circus, these tickets would be very welcome 🙂

Remind me to tell you what happened on our last trip to St Kilda Kylie! 🙂 It’s in our neck of the woods and we’ve been a few times. I too remember visiting it a child with my Uncle – very cool memories.
